I've been a campus minister for 16 years at Ball State. I love the students. I am an artist working in metals (silver, copper, and pewter) and wood. I enjoy talking one-on-one, going to movies, pizza, little kids, and broccoli. I also really enjoy Mass at St. Francis of Assisi every weekend. Come, join us!

I was born and raised in Huntington, IN, where I attended 12 years of Catholic schooling at SS Peter and Paul. I moved to Muncie in 1978 and began employment at St. Francis in 1986 after several years in the medical field. I am responsible for financial issues, fund raising, facilities, maintenance and day-to-day operations.

I am married to Tony, have 21 natural children (cats, dogs, rabbits, and cows!), one foster-child (gardenign), and we are renovating a 140-year-old home. I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, rescuing animals, and running marathons — and, of course, I truly love being at St. Francis and working with college students!

Originally from Huntington, IN, I came to Muncie in the early 1980s to study music at Ball State University. I completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar in 1984 and a Master's degree in the same field in 1988.

In the years before, during, and immediately after my college career, I was actively involved in a wide variety of musical endeavors, some academic and some not-so-academic. In the late 1980s, I began volunteering in music ministry at two local parishes (St. Mary's and St. Francis). From 1991 to 1995, I was employed here at St. Francis in a part-time position as Music Director. Between 1996 and 2000 I was a dedicated volunteer in the music ministry at St. Paul Catholic Center for Indiana University students in Bloomington, Indiana. During these same years, I participated in many church-music concerts and worship events in the Indianapolis area, including the 1997 National Association of Pastoral Musicians National Convention.

My current position at St. Francis began in the summer of 2000. In addition to working full time as Music Director, I am a member of the Liturgy Committee. The Liturgy Committee functions to assist Fr. John in all matters related to our worship style and atmosphere and to coordinate the work of the many Liturgical volunteers at St. Francis.

I graduated from BSU in 2004. After college, I left St. Francis, with the intention to return only for occasional visits. I packed my bags and headed to Charleston, South Carolina, where I volunteered with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. I was placed on a team with 11 other young adults and we were sent out to travel the Southern U.S., assisting communities in need.

This was a time of exponential growth for me as a young adult. Not only did I learn about community living, I also learned how to blaze trails through the woods, roof a house, and pour concrete sidewalks, to name a few things. I had the eye-opening experience of teaching fourth grade in inner-city North Charleston. It was a roller coaster year with many highs and lows, but God brought me through and back to St. Francis. Funny how He works sometimes!

I have a dog named Sam, who is basically the greatest thing on four legs. I love almost all outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and the beach. I have a goal to hike my way across at least one state of the Appalachian Trail. I love traveling and road trips and am a HUGE fan of surprises. As for free time, you can usually find me hanging out with friends, singing karaoke, or reading a good book. Last, but not least, I can't get enough of comfy beds and good cups of coffee.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Muncie in 2001 to pursue a Doctorate degree in Music Performance at Ball State. I play flute in the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and teach private lessons. I enjoy all genres of music, sports, games, reading, outdoor activities, and playing with my seven-year-old daughter Arianna and our dachshund, Wolfie.
